Manager of Hockey Operations
A native of Nova Scotia, Canada, Liam graduated from Robert Morris University in 2019 with a Master's in Organizational Leadership with a focus on non-profit leadership and data analytics.
While at Robert Morris, he was the Director of Hockey Operations for the Colonials Division I Women's hockey program for two years. During this time, he was part of the staff that pushed the Colonials to their third straight CHA regular season title while maintaining several National rankings en route to these titles. Liam incited a positive atmosphere while driving the need for athletes to focus on the importance of their mental health and well-being. The result was a direct correlation to production levels both on the ice and in the classroom.
Liam graduated from Acadia University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. Additionally, he had the opportunity to study abroad at UMass, Boston in a partnership program from 2015-2017 as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Beacons Division III men’s hockey program.
Prior to studying abroad at UMass, Liam was a goaltender for the Charles P. Allen High School and with junior programs in the NSJHL, such as the Valley Maple Leafs and the Cole Harbour Colts. His coaching career began in 2009 with Finn-Goaltending, a group that provides training for goaltenders at elite levels, where he learned coaching skills, drill development, and evaluation.
Liam is the founder over Never Give Up Radio, a mental health platform that encourages the importance of mental health by featuring different helpful resources, learning tools, stories of hope, speaking engagements and a podcast featuring high profile athletes sharing their own stories of difficulty. Courageously opening up about his own struggles, Liam has turned struggle into hope for many individuals and has given him the opportunity to act as a 'Pro Ambassador' with the #LiftTheMask mental health initiative launched by The Goalie Guild in 2018. Liam was also the founder and CEO of apparel company Flo Hockey, a clothing company that focused on charitable efforts rather than profit-making. He also participated in similar efforts as a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club, Special Olympics, Hope Happens Here, and several mental health initiatives through his young career.
