The Boulder Hockey Club and RoughRider leadership announced in 2018 that all girls' teams playing out of the Sport Stable will be run by and under Boulder Hockey Club. The Roughriders and Boulder Hockey Club are committed to growing & developing girls’ hockey in the greater Boulder Valley area. The goal of Boulder Hockey Club and the RoughRiders is to offer strong Tier I, Tier II and recreational all-girl options for our female membership for years to come.
BHC will be offering female-only team options, as well as existing co-ed team options, for any of our current or new female players in the 2018-2019 season. Last season, BHC and the Lady RoughRiders had 160 females participating in Learn to play, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U teams.
Our BHC Staff has an enormous amount of passion to develop and grow the girl’s game. We also have a wealth of experience within the girl’s game. Click on our bios to learn more about the Boulder Hockey Clubs full time staff members.

Chris Lockrem – former director of Lady RoughRiders, current Director of Hockey.
Martina Kleinova- Played at CU-Boulder and has coached girls in Learn to Play, 8U and 10U.
Tier I Female Options:
The RR and BHC want to create options for girls at all levels at the Sport Stable: Tier I, Tier II and Recreational teams. Team Colorado (CAHA) will manage Tier one until the 2019-2020 season (The 6 clubs that had girl’s teams in the spring of 2017 signed a contract agreeing to these terms). BHC and the RoughRider leadership hope that this new structure will aide in developing a large pool of female athletes and developing those athletes in order to be able to compete at the Tier 1 level in the next 3-5 years.
