New Director of Coaching and Player Development
Boulder Hockey Club is excited to announce that Chris Lockrem will be the Director of Coaching and Player Development. In this role, Chris will lead Boulder Hockey Club’s efforts to recruit and secure team coaches, lead our on ice activities, and help maintain and continue to develop our great success over the past two years. Chris’ passion for the game is second to none and his unparalleled on-ice teaching skills is aligned with Boulder Hockey Clubs directive of leading youth hockey player development in Colorado. In addition, Chris will continue in his role as the Director of Girls Hockey.
Our Program Philosophy states: “Boulder Hockey Club is dedicated to providing Boulder area youth with a positive atmosphere that supports a fair and competitive environment. Ice hockey is used as the vehicle to promote sportsmanship, integrity, self-esteem, dedication and commitment as a foundation for growth, both as an individual and as a member of the community. Emphasis will always be placed upon family, education, personal development, community, diversity, teamwork and sportsmanship.” With Michele Amidon as our Executive Director and Chris Lockrem as our Director of Coaching and Player Development, BHC has an amazing leadership team that will continue to take our club and our players to new heights.
Eric Schlie is no longer with BHC. Eric is a very talented coach and we thank him for his two years with the Club and wish him well in the future.
Boulder Hockey Club is pleased to announce the addition of Roger Gill to our coaching staff. Coach Gill will be the BHC 12U Division Director and will be the head coach of the 12 AA and 12B2 teams.
Roger Gill grew up in Massachusetts playing youth hockey for Assabet Valley, high school for the Pomfret School and he played college hockey for Kent State University. Prior to joining Boulder Hockey Club, Roger was instrumental in building the Mountain States Youth Hockey program in Northern Colorado. He has experience at coaching at all levels from mite to midget as well as junior hockey. Roger holds a level 5 USA Hockey certification and has coached multiple teams to CAHA State Championships and beyond. His coaching philosophy is to create an environment were learning is fun, discipline is instilled and accountability is expected. He looks forward to joining the BHC family this season.
